Recognition as a professional within the wedding & event industry on Maui
Have primary business in the wedding and/or event industry on Maui for no less than one year (50% or more of annual revenue)
Provide business license documentation (GET License number and/or any other applicable business licenses, certifications, commission numbers, permits)
Submit application and accepted by MWEA board
Sponsorship by two MWEA members in good standing (effective January 1, 2025)
Designate one representative per membership
Adopt membership agreements
Pay annual membership dues
An Allied membership is for businesses who are either not based on Maui, or who work part time in the wedding and/or event industry on Maui. Allied members have all the benefits of membership except they cannot vote for board members or hold an office position.
The dues are $150 for regular membership and $250 for allied membership. Memberships are for one calendar year. Dues are prorated for 2024, $75 for regular membership and $125 for allied membership.
Yes, the MWEA board is made up of volunteer members who work in the Maui wedding and events industry.
