When Engage!26 Maui arrived at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua, it brought more than a world-renowned luxury wedding summit to our island. It created a moment for Maui’s wedding and event community to stand together, welcome industry leaders from around the globe, and show exactly what makes this place, and the people who serve it, so extraordinary.
Hosted June 8–11, 2026, Engage!26 Maui gathered many of the wedding industry’s most respected planners, designers, creatives, media professionals, hospitality leaders, and event partners for several days of education, connection, celebration, and destination immersion. For Maui, it was an opportunity not only to host an internationally recognized event, but to tell a larger story: our island is ready, our creative community is strong, and our wedding and event industry continues to offer something truly unmatched.
Maui as More Than a Destination
Maui has always been one of the most meaningful places in the world to celebrate love. Couples are drawn here for the obvious reasons: ocean views, golden light, dramatic coastlines, lush landscapes, luxury resorts, and a sense of beauty that feels almost impossible to recreate anywhere else.
But Engage!26 Maui reminded us that Maui is not simply a backdrop.
Maui is a place with history, culture, community, generosity, and deep-rooted hospitality. The island does not just host events. It shapes them. It invites guests to slow down, connect more intentionally, and experience celebration through a sense of place.
Throughout the summit, that sense of place was woven into the guest experience. From oceanfront gatherings and locally inspired culinary moments to floral design, music, hospitality, and thoughtful details, Maui was present in every layer of the event. The result was not a generic luxury conference that happened to be held in Hawaiʻi. It was a Maui experience, created with Maui talent, Maui resources, and Maui heart.

One of the most meaningful parts of Engage!26 Maui was seeing so many local vendors come together with such creativity, professionalism, and pride.
Behind every polished event moment were teams of people setting tables, designing florals, building installations, preparing food, managing production, moving rentals, steaming linens, directing guests, solving problems quietly, and making the impossible look effortless. The final result may have looked seamless, but anyone in this industry knows that seamless does not happen by accident.
It happens because skilled professionals care deeply about the details.
Maui’s vendors showed what our island is capable of when we work together. From planning and design to floral, rentals, entertainment, catering, photography, video, hair and makeup, transportation, specialty experiences, production, and hospitality, our local wedding and event community delivered with excellence.
Events of this scale require more than beautiful ideas. They require trust, coordination, endurance, flexibility, and a shared commitment to representing Maui well. Our vendors did exactly that.
Collaboration at the Center
As a 100% volunteer organization, Maui Wedding & Event Association exists to support, unify, and elevate the professionals who make up Maui’s wedding and event industry. Engage!26 Maui was a powerful opportunity to reflect that mission.
This summit was not about one company, one venue, or one vendor. It was about what becomes possible when community, hospitality, government partners, resorts, creative teams, and small businesses work together toward a shared goal.
The collaboration behind Engage!26 Maui matters because events are not built in isolation. They are built through relationships. They are built through the florist who stays late, the rental team that adjusts on the fly, the chef who brings a concept to life, the musician who sets the tone, the planner who carries the timeline, the venue team who keeps the whole property moving, and the production crew who makes sure every light, sound cue, and transition lands.
Maui’s wedding and event industry is filled with professionals who do this work every day, often behind the scenes and often without applause. Engage!26 Maui gave that talent a moment in the spotlight.

Set along Maui’s northwest coast, The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua provided a stunning home base for the summit. With sweeping ocean views, expansive event spaces, and a strong sense of place, the property offered the kind of setting that allows a multi-day event to feel both elevated and immersive.
Kapalua has a way of making luxury feel grounded. The landscape is dramatic but peaceful, refined but natural. For Engage!26 Maui, that balance was essential. The summit moved through moments of education, celebration, networking, and reflection, all within an environment that reminded attendees why Maui continues to hold such a powerful place in the destination wedding market.
